Looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that is making a difference in the lives of young people? The BGS North Assessment Centre is looking for a talented and energetic individual to join our team as an Assessment/Support Manager on a full-time basis.

As an Assessment/Support Manager, you will be working with youth aged 16-19 who are seeking financial assistance and working towards completing their high school education. Our team provides guidance and support every step of the way, from the application process to high school completion and beyond!

A day in the life of a Support Manager includes providing information sessions on Foundational Learning Assistance Policies, assessing eligibility for the program, and providing ongoing support to youth as they work through their Service Plan. You will also be responsible for providing information related to job search or next steps upon completion of high school, maintaining accurate records of student activity, liaising with training providers as a student advocate, and staying up-to-date on training programs, educational institutions, job search methods, and community resource information.

We are looking for qualified applicants who have post-secondary education in career development, social sciences or related experience, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role, a professional demeanor with strong organizational and time management competencies, excellent communication, listening and coaching capabilities, experience working with youth and a commitment to motivating and encouraging youth. You should also be skilled in a variety of career/employment/educational planning tools/resources, have current knowledge of Edmonton/Northern Alberta labor market, providers, and community resources, be highly skilled with the use of information technology and be detail oriented. The successful applicant will be able to provide support to youth while ensuring that Foundational Learning policies are followed.
